Care & Use

Care & Use

Good goods reward a little attention. A few honest habits will keep the pieces you buy from us looking and working their best for years.

Stoneware & ceramic

Our stoneware is dishwasher and microwave friendly, though hand-washing keeps glazes their brightest. Let pieces cool before rinsing, and avoid sudden temperature swings. Small variations in glaze and speckle are a feature of hand-finished work, not a flaw.

Linen & cotton

Wash warm or cool and tumble dry low; both linen and waffle cotton soften with every cycle. Skip fabric softener, which coats the fibers and reduces absorbency. A warm iron brings linen back if you like it crisp — or leave it relaxed.

Wood, brass & leather

Oil wooden boards and bowls now and then with a food-safe finish. Brass will patina warmly over time; polish it if you prefer it bright, or let it be. Full-grain leather and waxed canvas darken and soften as they age — a wipe-down and the occasional re-wax is all they need.

Candles & pantry

Trim wicks to a quarter inch before each burn and keep the first burn going until the surface melts edge to edge. Store pantry goods sealed, cool, and out of direct sun.
